Great Friend & Great News!

To all of you who have always wished you had a friend like Magnum P.I. (hehemm, Jeri... or to my husband always wants to BE Magnum... that's another story, but OH the reruns (UG!)), you should be jealous of me :)

Who knew that this adoption process would not just bring me a daughter, but a really great friend?! Nicole and her husband, Sam, took the referral of their baby girl two days before we did. We had actually inquired about their daughter and Carrie simultaneously, loving Carrie and knowing that she was Drew's one and only choice... but also being swept away by this other adorable baby girl. She was "taken" and praise God we didn't have to make that choice!!
Well, there's a yahoo group for our agency and God would have it that I got to "meet" the mother-to-be of that other sweet baby girl I fell in love with. We sparked an instant friendship and though this is her first time adopting and I should be more "in the know"...she has definitely been teaching me a thing or two :) We share the same attorney and a very similar adoption timeline, which has been so cool! I love her and am SO grateful she's my friend!! Some fine day we'll actually meet in person and enjoy watching our children play together. Carrie and Emerson (Nicole's daughter) actually were together in December for pictures... so they have already met! After their first visit to Guatemala, Sam & Nicole decided to adopt a son as well! Please pray that they will have their virtual twins home very soon!

Now for the good news part! My "Private Investigator" friend, Nicole (see there was a point to all that), found out great info for me that I would have otherwise never known! Carrie was born in a part of Guatemala that has been turning new birth certificates around in 1-2 days!!! This is a lot less than the 3 weeks or so it's taking for children born in Guatemala City! That means that it should take less time to get her home after exiting PGN! Hallelujah!! Thanks, Nicole!! You rock :))

July Prayer Requests

I'm SO sorry that I've gotten so far behind on the blog! I have so many things to write about... Father's Day, our new patio (the picture is what my sweet hubby scratched into the pathway leading to the patio. I was so surprised...and the whole "Drew Carey" thing really bothers me, so sadly I wasn't very kind in my reaction.......but I love it, Honey. Thank you!) and the fact that we recently learned we are STILL in PGN, no kick outs so far! This is week 6 in what is supposed to be an 8 or 9 week process. UNLESS we get kicked out for something. Then we have to fix it and re-enter starting the whole wait all over again!!!

With that note, here are our prayer requests:
1) For a supernaturally early OUT from PGN, like this very week!

2) For Carrie's PINK slip to be issued sometime in early August and an August embassy date! That will mean the adoption is finalized and Carrie can come home!!
3) For someone to be available to bring Carrie home to us forever when the process is done; we hope we don't have to wait longer than that!

4) For our hearts and the hearts of our many friends also waiting for their children... that we would continue to wait patiently on the Lord for His perfect timing and continue to petition Him with our specific requests and delight in Him no matter how He answers!!!

5) For Carrie and all of her Guatemalan friends waiting to reach their forever homes!! Keep them safe, Lord, and comfort them!!

Thanks, friends! Your prayer support makes ALL the difference during this time of waiting and expectation! Enjoy the beautiful July weather!!
